PAMPORE, July 17: Continuing its crackdown on illegal mining, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday evening seized two L&T machines involved in illegal mining activities at Wuyan area of Police Jurisdiction Khrew in Pampore Tehsil.
According to officials, the operation was conducted by a team from Police Station Khrew under the supervision of Station House Officer (SHO) Naieem Rashid. The action was taken as part of an ongoing drive to curb illegal extraction of minerals in the area.
Police officials told Kashmir Convener that two L&T machines were found engaged in illegal mining and were seized on the spot. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of law at Police Station Khrew.
Jammu and Kashmir Police reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against illegal mining and appealed to the general public to cooperate by reporting any instances of unlawful mining activities to the nearest police station.
