MLA Nizamuddin Bhat Responds to Imam-e-Hai’s Call, Allocates ₹60 Lakh for Eidgah

Bandipora, March 5: A Day After Imam-e-Hai Bandipora Moulana Khursheed Anwar Naqashbandi raised demand of funds for renovation of Eidgah Bandipora during Eid Prayers, MLA Bandipora Nizamudin Bhat visited Eidgah Bandipora to assess the needs for renovation and assured Rs 60 lakhs for the renovation of Eidgah.

An official spokesperson said Bhat has taken a significant step by allocating Rs 25 lakh from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the renovation of Eidgah Bandipora. Additionally, Rs 35 lakh has been proposed under the UT Capex Budget for the redevelopment and renovation of the revered site.

Recognizing the importance of the Eidgah as a central place for congregational prayers and religious gatherings in Bandipora, MLA Bhat assured the community of swift action to restore and enhance the site.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhat reiterated his commitment to addressing public concerns and ensuring the development of religious and cultural landmarks in the region. He highlighted the significance of the Eidgah for the local Muslim community and pledged to oversee the renovation process to ensure quality work.

The allocation of funds is expected to facilitate necessary infrastructure upgrades, including boundary wall repairs, improved seating arrangements and other essential enhancements to accommodate large gatherings comfortably.

Local residents and religious leaders have welcomed the move, expressing gratitude to the MLA for his proactive approach in addressing community needs. The proposal under the UT Capex Budget is also anticipated to receive approval, ensuring a more comprehensive redevelopment of the site.

Bhat said the places like Eidgah, Aham Sharief Shrine, Sultanul Arfeen (RA) Shrine in Pooru and Shrine of Nanga Baji (RA) besides the institutions like Dar-ul-uloom Rahimya are the identities of the cultural and religious identities of Bandipora and needs a special attention for upgradation, protections and preservation.
