Bandipora, October 31: MLA Bandipora Nizamuddin Bhat has renewed his demand for expediting the land allotment for a proposed 33/11 kV receiving station at Arin, urging Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene and clear the way for the project.
In a social media post, Bhat recalled his repeated requests for the transfer of land and called for a broader review of the power sector.
“Recall my repeated requests for land transfer to clear decks for the project. Whole power sector calls for a relook. Delay is at our peril,” the legislator told the Chief Minister in the social media post, sharing an official communication issued by the Power Development Department (PDD) on October 8.
According to the communication, the PDD has conveyed its concurrence to the transfer or allotment of land in favour of the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) for construction of a 33/11 kV, 1×10 MVA receiving station at Arin.
The project has been approved under the CAPEX programme at an estimated cost of ₹4.96 crore, under Scheme Code PDDSS2526100164. The communication, issued by the Director (Planning), PDD, to the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Revenue Department, states that KPDCL has already sought allotment of the land and requests that the process be expedited.
The land allotment remains a key administrative step before the project can move forward. However, the communication does not specify a timeline for the transfer of land or commencement of construction.
