BUDGAM, July 21: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Quick Response Team (QRT) Budgam on Tuesday launched a search and rescue operation at Khag Drang Nallah in Budgam district after a man drowned following a sudden surge in the water level.
The deceased has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Poswal, son of Mohd Shafi Poswal, aged about 30 years and a resident of Gujarpati Drang.
According to officials, Shabir Ahmad Poswal was swept away after the water level in the nallah rose suddenly. Soon after receiving information about the incident, the SDRF QRT Budgam rushed to the spot and initiated an intensive search and rescue operation to trace the missing person.
