The facility, established as part of the High Court’s efforts to modernise court administration, will provide technology-enabled judicial services including e-filing, case status tracking, and access to cause lists, officials said.

The inauguration was attended by Principal District & Sessions Judge, Baramulla, Jawad Ahmad; Special Judge, UAPA Court, Feroz Ahmad Khan; Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sopore, Iqbal Rafiq Vakil; District Mobile Magistrate, Sopore, Usman Khurshid; and Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Dangiwacha, Younis Hamid. During her visit, Justice Kazmi took stock of the court’s functioning and assessed the infrastructure requirements of the complex.

Speaking on behalf of the legal fraternity, Bar Association Sopore president Faisal Jan Anim expressed gratitude to Justice Kazmi for her continued support towards judicial infrastructure in Sopore. He raised several long-pending demands, including strengthening of judicial staff, upgradation of the existing complex, rationalisation of territorial jurisdiction between Sopore and Baramulla courts, and expeditious construction of a new court complex on the 40 kanals of land recently allotted for the purpose.

“Sopore, being centrally located in north Kashmir and a major commercial hub, deserves enhanced judicial infrastructure to cater to the growing needs of litigants,” Anim said.

The visit reflects the High Court’s commitment towards modernisation of the justice delivery system and addressing infrastructural requirements of the judiciary at the grassroots level, officials added.
