Srinagar, May 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Wednesday concluded a three-day training programme organised under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme at its Main Campus, Sempora. The programme saw enthusiastic participation from aspiring entrepreneurs as well as officers from the Department of Horticulture.

Organised by JKEDI District Centre Pulwama, the training programme was aimed at enhancing the entrepreneurial competencies of aspiring and existing entrepreneurs engaged in the micro food-processing sector. Over the course of three days, participants were provided detailed insights into business planning, financial management, market linkages, government support schemes, and access to institutional credit facilities.

The programme was designed to strengthen the capacities of participants by equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge required for establishing and sustaining successful micro food-processing enterprises. The initiative also seeks to promote entrepreneurship, generate self-employment opportunities, and contribute to the growth of the local economy by strengthening grassroots enterprise ecosystems.

The training sessions were conducted by JKEDI faculty members under the overall supervision of Director JKEDI, Mr. Muhammad Younis Malik (JKAS). Addressing the participants, the Director encouraged aspiring and existing food-processing entrepreneurs to take full advantage of the PMFME Scheme and work towards the formalisation and expansion of their enterprises.

JKEDI has been consistently working towards strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem across Jammu and Kashmir through targeted training and capacity-building programmes being implemented under various government initiatives.
