JK General Line Teachers Forum Attends Farewell of Director General School Education Kashmir

Srinagar, October 30: The Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum (JKGLTF), led by its President Mr. Gowhar Ahmad Bhat, participated in the farewell function of Dr. G. N. Itoo, Director General School Education Kashmir (DGSEK), held at the SCERT Auditorium, Bemina, Srinagar on Wednesday.

Dr. Itoo, a distinguished educationist and administrator known for his integrity and reform-oriented approach, is superannuating on October 31, 2025, after rendering decades of exemplary service to the education sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion, members of the General Line Teachers Forum lauded Dr. Itoo’s visionary leadership, administrative acumen, and transformative initiatives that revitalized the academic and institutional framework of school education in the region. They recalled how his tenure was marked by transparency, innovation, and teacher empowerment, which contributed immensely to improving the teaching-learning ecosystem across government schools.

The Forum described Dr. Itoo as an honest, dedicated, and farsighted officer, whose people-centric policies strengthened trust between teachers and the administration. They credited him with introducing several progressive measures in academic planning, teacher training, digital education, and student welfare—leaving a lasting legacy in the department.

As a mark of respect and gratitude, mementos and tokens of appreciation were presented to Dr. Itoo by the JKGLTF delegation. Members expressed deep appreciation for his unwavering commitment to educational excellence and humane approach to administration.
