Indian Army Organises Sarpanch Meet at Salani
Poonch, April 10: Indian Army on Wednesday conducted a Sarpanch Meet at the border villages of LKG (Dara Dullian) and Salani in Poonch district. The initiative aimed at strengthening communication and engagement with the local population residing near the Line of Control (LoC).
The event witnessed active participation from Sarpanches, Nambardars, and Ward Members of neighbouring villages. With both Salani and Dara Dullian facing unique challenges due to their geographical proximity to the LoC, the meet served as an essential platform to address concerns and promote collaborative development.
A dedicated session was held for local youth, where Army officials provided information about eligibility criteria and recruitment processes for joining the Indian Army. The session was aimed at motivating young minds to explore a future in the armed forces and contribute meaningfully to the peace and development of Jammu & Kashmir.
Officials also spoke about welfare schemes under the Sadbhavna initiative, highlighting opportunities for personal and professional development in border areas. From education to healthcare and vocational training, residents were briefed about ongoing and upcoming support programs.
The Army reiterated its commitment to inclusive growth, peace, and sustainable development, especially in border areas where civilian lives are impacted by cross-border dynamics.
The meet was well-received by the locals, who expressed gratitude for the Army’s outreach and dedication to their welfare.
