Horticulture Dept Carries Plantation Drive at Bandipora’s Chak-Reshipora under NMBA

Bandipora, April 28: A plantation drive was carried out at Chak-Reshipora in Bandipora by the department of Horticulture in collaboration with the Social Forestry Department as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign, officials said.

The drive was conducted on the directions of Chief Horticulture Officer Bandipora Pawan Kumar Thakur. In-charge Horticulture Nursery Chak-Reshipora Tahira un Nisa, along with officials from the Forest and Horticulture departments, was present on the occasion.

Orchardists from the area also participated in the plantation activity. Experts from the departments interacted with farmers and provided guidance on modern horticulture practices and techniques aimed at improving orchard productivity.

Officials said the programme also included an awareness component, where participants were sensitised about the harmful effects of drug abuse as part of the broader Nasha Mukt campaign.

Participants, including farmers and officials, pledged to work collectively towards addressing the issue of substance abuse while promoting environmental conservation through plantation activities.

The initiative forms part of integrated efforts combining environmental awareness with social reform measures under the ongoing campaign.
