Baramulla, May 23: The construction work on the Red Bridge–Dheriya–Kathi (RBDK) Road in Uri, a remote border area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, is progressing at a satisfactory pace, with authorities ensuring that all works are being carried out with excellent quality and in accordance with prescribed technical standards.
The ongoing project has witnessed remarkable progress, especially in road cutting, maintenance of proper road slope, and the laying of different structural layers. Officials associated with the project are closely monitoring every stage of the work to ensure the strength, safety, and long-term durability of the road infrastructure.
According to officials and local sources, most of the construction work has already been completed, while the black topping (bituminous surfacing) is still pending and is expected to be completed soon.
The RBDK Road holds immense importance for the local population, as it is expected to significantly improve transportation and connectivity in the remote area. Besides benefiting the residents, the road is also strategically important from a national security perspective, as better road infrastructure will enhance movement and accessibility in the border region.
