GM School, AYUSH Centre Kenihama Hold Plantation Drive Under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’

Budgam, Sept 20: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv celebrations, Government Middle School Kenihama in collaboration with the AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre Kenihama on Friday organised a plantation drive under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.”

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, healthcare staff and local residents who planted saplings in and around the school and health centre premises. Organisers said the initiative was aimed at promoting environmental conservation, creating awareness about the importance of trees and dedicating every plantation to the spirit of motherhood.

Highlighting the significance of the campaign, the organisers said that trees not only play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance but also symbolise nurturing, care and sustenance — qualities associated with mothers. Participants also pledged to look after the saplings to ensure their healthy growth.

Officials from both the school and AYUSH Centre said the collaborative effort reflected the commitment of the institutions towards creating a greener and healthier environment. They added that such initiatives also instil values of responsibility and sustainability among the younger generation.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, with the organisers expressing gratitude to all participants and appealing to the community to continue eco-friendly drives in future as a tribute to both nature and motherhood.
