Pampore, September 10: Fayaz Ahmad Lone was elected president of the Bar Association Pampore for the 2026-27 session on Thursday, defeating Ajaz Ahmad Khan by 31 votes to 23.
Tasaduq Farooq Mir was elected secretary after securing 35 votes against 19 polled by Umer Mehraj.
The elections for the office-bearers were conducted under the supervision of Chief Election Commissioner Arshid Ahmad Dar, assisted by Election Commissioners Shabir Ahmad Reshi and Andleeb.
According to members of the Bar Association, the election process was conducted peacefully.
The newly elected office-bearers will take charge for the 2026-27 session and are expected to represent the professional interests of members of the association.
