Bandipora, Jan 31: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman Rather, who is also District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora, on Wednesday held a meeting to examine the groundwork for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.
The meeting also took a comprehensive review of the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Panchayat electoral rolls.
The meeting was attended by Deputy District Election Officer, ACR ERO, SDM Sumbal/Gurez (Through virtual mode) ARTO, and other concerned Officers and officials associated with the election process.
The meeting discussed threadbare preparations being put in place for the upcoming democratic exercise especially. The meeting also held detailed deliberations on the Transport Plan taking into account all aspects of the election process. DC Bandipora emphasised the significance of a well-organised electoral process, highlighting the need for accuracy and inclusivity in the electoral rolls.
During the meeting, detailed discussions transpired regarding strategies to enhance voter awareness, streamline administrative processes, and address potential challenges. The participants exchanged insights and suggestions to optimise logistics, security arrangements, and overall coordination for the forthcoming elections.
Simultaneously, the DC and attendees scrutinised the progress of the Special Summary Revision of Panchayat electoral rolls, emphasising the importance of maintaining up-to-date and error-free voter lists. The meeting aimed to identify and rectify any discrepancies, ensuring a transparent and fair representation of the electorate.
Shakeel Ul Rehman expressed confidence in the collaborative efforts of the administration and urged all stakeholders to work diligently to uphold the democratic values and principles of a free and fair electoral process.
