Div Com discusses post lockdown measures for revival of Business sector, Tourism trade

JAMMU, OCTOBER 16: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today said that government is taking string of administrative measures to revive the business sector in the province. 

He was chairing a meeting of heads of key departments to discuss the post lockdown measures for the revival of business sector, including tourism trade in the province. 

The meeting was attended by senior functionaries of industries, tourism, pollution control board, besides representatives of hotel Associations and other stakeholders. The meeting discussed various issues related to promotion of hospitality sector in the Jammu division.

The hoteliers and the regulating authorities raised various areas of concern and underlined the need to address these for sustained growth of the tourism trade and other businesses associated with it.  

The Div Com asked the departments concerned to submit action taken report on the recommendations of the Committee constituted by the J&K government for suggesting the relief and revival measures for business sector

Threadbare discussions were also held on vital issues like registration of hotels, lodges, installation of sewerage treatment plants by the business establishments.

Day 144: Jammu, Srinagar Airports receive 31 domestic flights with 3,659 passengers aboard

JAMMU, OCTOBER 16: On day 144 of resumption of routine domestic operations in Jammu and Kashmir, 31 domestic flights with 3,659 passengers on board today arrived at Jammu and Srinagar Airports.

A total of 1400 passengers aboard 12 regular commercial flights arrived at the Jammu Airport while 19 domestic flights with about 2259 passengers aboard landed at Srinagar Airport today.

Pertinently, Jammu Airport Authorities have received a total of 1,322 domestic flights with 133,482 passengers while Srinagar Airport Authorities have received 2,159 domestic flights with 2,92,632 passengers since 25th of May till date.

Till date the government has brought back about 3806 passengers from various countries to the Union Territory through special evacuation flights in the wake of global pandemic till date.

After arrival, all the passengers were tested for the COVID-19 at both the airports amid strict observance of all necessary preventive protocols.

The Government has made elaborate arrangements for the arrival, screening, sampling and proper transportation of the passengers to the quarantine centers taking special care of guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) prescribed by the Union Ministries of Civil Aviation and Health and Family Welfare.
