District-Level Mass PTM Held at GHSS Mantrigam
BANDIPORA, Aug 9 — Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Mantrigam on Saturday hosted a district-level Mass Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM), bringing together hundreds of parents, teachers, and education officials to discuss students’ academic progress, behaviour, and social development.
The event, organised under Cluster Mantrigam, was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Shabir Ahmad Wani as Chief Guest. Ghulam Hassan Reshi, Officer on Special Duty with the Director of School Education; Chief Education Officer Bandipora Altaf Hussain Tara; former Deputy CEO Rafiq Ahmad; ZEO Quilmuqam; and GHSS Principal Masoodul Hassan Reshi were among the Guests of Honour.
Vice Principal Iqbal Ahmad Magray welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the school’s achievements. The programme featured cultural performances by students from various affiliated schools, followed by addresses from education leaders emphasising the vital role of parents in shaping children’s futures. CEO Tara urged parents to stay engaged with their wards’ education, noting that their role has “increased manifold” in today’s times.
OSD Reshi praised the talent emerging from far-flung areas, stating that students from Cluster Mantrigam could compete with any in Srinagar. Additional District Commissioner Wani encouraged teachers to “nourish students’ dreams” and stressed that they can “revolutionise society through positivity.” Former Deputy CEO Rafiq Ahmad spoke on parental responsibilities in the context of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the teachings of the Quran.
A major highlight of the PTM was the exhibition of stalls showcasing student projects and skills in Tourism and Hospitality, Beauty and Wellness, Science Innovations, sports achievements, and cultural activities. Models from GMS Mantrigam and HS Banakoot drew significant attention from visitors. The dignitaries interacted with students, teachers, and parents, listening to feedback and suggestions.
The programme was anchored by Mufti Farhat in Kashmiri and Urdu, assisted by two girl students. Principal Reshi delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all guests, staff, parents, and students for their participation.
