DIPR’s Cultural Unit conducts Drug Awareness Programme in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, JUNE 18: Cultural Unit of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Kashmir, organized an awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan (NMJKA) at Greenland Paramedical College, Sangeen Darwaza, Hawal, Srinagar.

 

The programme aimed at sensitizing students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy, addiction-free life. Students actively participated in the event and delivered insightful speeches highlighting the ill effects of substance abuse on individuals, families, and society.

 

A short play depicting the dangers of drug addiction was presented by the artists of Mehak Dramatic Club. The impactful and engaging performance received enthusiastic applause from the audience for effectively conveying the anti-drug message.

 

Student speakers who participated in the programme were felicitated for their contribution and awareness efforts.

Speaking on the occasion, AECO, Cultural Unit Kashmir, Syed Shakeel Shan, stressed the vital role of parental care and guidance in preventing substance abuse among youth. He also gave a detailed briefing on the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and emphasized the collective responsibility of society in combating the menace of drugs.

 

The Principal and staff of Greenland Paramedical College expressed their gratitude to the Cultural Unit, DIPR, for organizing such meaningful awareness programmes and creating awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse.

 

The programme concluded with a pledge by participants to support the vision of a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.
