DC Bandipora reviews implementation of initiatives under Mission Youth
Youth Outreach, Awareness & Career Counseling to be kick started in the District from 14th February
BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 11: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Thursday chaired a meeting to review the implementation of various initiatives taken under Mission Youth in the district.
The meeting discussed the utilization and functioning of youth clubs, implementation of spurring entrepreneurship initiatives, engagement of dental profession by way of setting up dental clinics, release of subsidy in favour of beneficiaries under Tejaswi and functioning and establishment of drug-de-addiction centre.
The meeting held threadbare discussion with regard to the subject and the DC took the feedback about the status of these programmes.
Officers informed that a detailed calendar has been drafted to start various programmes under Mission Youth including career counseling, Psycho Social Counseling besides other educational activities. The activities shall start from 14th of February till 21 March 2022. They said the activities shall be carried out at Panchayat level in every Panchayat to ensure maximum participation of youth
It was given out that several projects proposed by the district administration under mission youth are helping in uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the people besides providing a platform to the youth for education and employment.
Officers informed that Youth Facilitation Centre proposed under Mission Youth shall have several faculties including library, recreational centre, indoor playground, opera etc. Under Youth Skilling, the administration proposes skill development programmes that shall help youth to equip themselves with modern skills making them employable in the market.
It was further given out that civil services coaching and coaching for under competitive exams are to be conducted under the mission.
The meeting also discussed development of sports facilities under mission youth including development of playgrounds and distribution of sports kits. Infrastructure development of schools shall also be proposed under the mission youth.
The DC urged the officers to work in coordination with the civil society members so that projects can be proposed at earliest for further necessary action.
The DC further said that the programme is conceived with an objective to facilitate the engagement of youth in sustainable socio-economic development of J&K; to help young people to realize their full social, economic and human potential, to foster the social integration of youth within communities and enhance youth employability, contribution to effective delivery of basic services to the people of J&K in the times of distrust, natural calamities, pandemics, to set up micro youth clubs for youth engagement at Panchayat level.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Ali Afsar Khan, Chief Education Officer and other senior officers of the district.
