Court grants bail to DDC member accused of assaulting Tehsildar

Bandipora, July 24: A local court on Saturday granted bail to the member of District Development Counsel Bandipora who was arrested for allegedly assaulting a Tehsildar in the district earlier this month.

          Principal District and Sessions Judge Bandipora Mohammad Ibrahim Wani granted an interim bail to the accused- Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Rather –DDC member Arin, on a personal bail bond of Rs 50,000.

The accused through his counsel-advocate Abdul Rashid Khan approached the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge for grant of bail after it was rejected by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate.

District & Sessions Judge accepted the prayer of the accused and granted bail to the accused DDC member on the condition of deposition of a personal surety  bond to the tune of Rs 50.000.

          Court said the accused shall be granted the bail on the condition that the accused will appear before the court on each and every date fixed and will not directly or indirectly tamper with the prosecution witnesses.

          The accused has also been asked not to leave the Kashmir valley without the prior permission of the court and shall appear before the court on next date of hearing on July 31.

On July 03, the accused DDC was booked and arrested under sections 307, 392 and 353 after he allegedly assaulted tehsildar Bandipora during a road inspection work in Kudara village two weeks ago.
