Cloudburst in Bandipora villages triggers flash floods

Bandipora, 28 July: A cloudburst triggered a flash flood in Aloosa tehsil of North Kashmir's Bandipora district on wednesday, damaging residential houses and foot bridge.
Reports said that several residential houses and roads were damaged in Aloosa, Chechinar and Ashtangoo area due to the flash floods in the wee hours today. However, there was no report of any loss of life in the incident.
One house in chachinar Aloosa got partially damaged moreover masjid shareef chachinar's mehraab and hamaam got partially damaged and one foot bridge damaged in Chachinar, some orchard's and paddy fields got damaged due to excessive water.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais in a tweet said that Revenue, Police and Flood control deptt have been sent on spot. "Damage to two structures, no injury reported. Situation under control and is being closely monitored. Requesting all to avoid venturing near waterbodies esp during these days of rainfall" He said.
