CIK Conducts Raids at Two Locations in Srinagar in UAPA Case

Srinagar, July 8: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids at two locations in Srinagar in connection with an investigation registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.

Official sources said one CIK team carried out a search at Usmania Colony, Bagh-i-Mehtab, at the residence of Altaf Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Bagh-i-Mehtab, who is presently residing in Pakistan since 1990.

Simultaneously, another CIK team conducted a raid at Sheikh-ul-Alam Colony, Nowgam, at the residence of Mukhtar Ahmad Baba, a resident of Sheikh-ul-Alam Colony, who, according to the investigating agency, has been residing in Pakistan since 2022.

The searches are being conducted in connection with FIR No. 04/2026 registered at Police Station Counter Intelligence Kashmir under Sections 505 and 153A of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Officials said the searches were in progress at the time of filing this report, adding that further details would be shared after completion of the operation. [KNT]
