SSP Harmeet Singh Mehta urges intensified area domination, surprise checks

Bandipora, Aug 12: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora Harmeet Singh Mehta on Tuesday chairs a meeting of Police Officers from across the district to review the security situation in the district and take stock of the security measures in view of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
An official spokesperson of Bandipora Police said a comprehensive security review meeting was held at District Police Lines Bandipora wherein Senior officers including ASP Bandipora, DySP Headquarters, SDPOs of Sumbal and Gurez, DySP DAR, DySP SOG Hajin, and all SHOs/IC PPs of the district attended the meeting.
He said the meeting discussed the prevailing security situation in detail and measures were discussed to ensure smooth and peaceful Independence Day functions across the district. The officers briefed the meeting about the security situation in their jurisdiction and the security measures taken in view of the Independence Day celebrations.
On the occasion SSP Mehta stressed maintaining a high level of alertness, strengthening coordination among security agencies, intelligence sharing and deploying personnel effectively at all vital and sensitive points.
He also directed intensified area domination, surprise checks, and strong intelligence gathering and coordination in security sharing with other law enforcing agencies for better dealing with the situation to prevent any untoward incidents.
The officers reaffirmed their commitment to work in close coordination to uphold peace and ensure safe celebrations in Bandipora.
