Bandipora Admin Holds Anti-Drug Quiz Programmes in Educational Institutions

Bandipora, May 08: The District Administration Bandipora on Friday continued activities under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan by organising quiz competitions, awareness programmes and pledge ceremonies across several educational institutions in the district.

The programmes were aimed at educating students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging a healthy and drug-free lifestyle among youth.

Quiz competitions under the banner of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan were conducted at various institutions, including PM SHRI Higher Secondary School Shahgund, Government High School Naidkhai, Higher Secondary School Jurniyal Tulail, Government High School Nadihal, Higher Secondary School Panar, Government Higher Secondary School PTL Gurez, Higher Secondary School Gadakhud, Government Boys High School Garoora and PM SHRI Government High School Odina.

Officials said the events were part of the district administration’s sustained efforts to involve students and educational institutions in awareness campaigns against substance abuse.

During the programmes, participants were sensitised about the social, physical and psychological consequences of drug addiction and the importance of making informed and healthy choices.

Teachers and staff members also addressed students during the sessions and highlighted the role of youth in building a drug-free society. Pledge ceremonies were organised alongside the quiz competitions, where students and faculty members resolved to stay away from drugs and spread awareness among their peers and communities.

The programmes witnessed active participation from students, teachers and school staff across the district, reflecting growing public engagement with the anti-drug campaign.

Officials said the administration would continue organising educational and awareness-based activities under the 100-day campaign to strengthen preventive measures against drug abuse and promote community participation in combating the menace.

The Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan is being implemented across the Union Territory through coordinated efforts involving educational institutions, health departments, police, social welfare agencies and local communities.
