Awantipora, April 23: Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan , drug awareness programmes were conducted at different locations across Police District Awantipora to sensitize the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse.At Tral, a drug awareness programme was conducted at Government High School Jawahirpora Laam under the supervision of SDPO Tral . During the session, students were made aware of the ill effects of narcotic substances, the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and the role of youth in building a drug-free society.
Meanwhile, in Khrew, a drug awareness programme was organised at Wahab Sahab Khrew under the supervision of SDPO Pampore. Participants were sensitized about the dangers of drug abuse and were encouraged to adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
Speakers at both programmes emphasized the need for collective efforts from society, especially the younger generation, to eradicate the menace of drugs. Participants actively engaged in the sessions and pledged to stay away from drugs and spread awareness within their communities.
Police reiterated their commitment to continue such awareness initiatives across the district to curb drug abuse and promote a safe and healthy environment.
