Awantipora, May 02: Continuing its sustained efforts under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Police in Awantipora organized multiple drug awareness programmes at different locations to educate the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a drug free society.
A drug awareness programme was organized at Woyen under the chairmanship of SDPO Pampore The programme witnessed active participation from members of civil society, students, and the Auqaf Committee. During the interaction, participants were sensitized about the ill effects of substance abuse and were encouraged to play an active role in eradicating the drug menace from society.
Another awareness programme was conducted at Sumo Stand Awantipora, where locals and commuters were informed about the dangers of drug abuse. The participants were urged to cooperate with the police and report any drug related activities in their areas.
Police reiterated its commitment towards making society drug-free and appealed to the general public to join hands in this noble cause.
