Army Launches Relief Operation After Cloudburst, Flash Floods in Kargil’s Kirkitchu

KARGIL, July 21: The Indian Army launched a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) operation in Kirkitchu village of Kargil district following a cloudburst and flash floods that affected the area.

According to official sources, Army personnel were swiftly deployed in coordination with the civil administration to assist the affected population. The troops cleared debris, provided medical assistance to those in need and extended support to residents in the aftermath of the disaster.

To restore connectivity, the Army constructed a temporary footbridge, enabling the safe movement of people and facilitating the delivery of relief material and other essential services.

The coordinated response by the Army and the civil administration helped mitigate the impact of the disaster and ensured timely assistance to the affected community. Local residents appreciated the prompt response and humanitarian efforts of the Army personnel during the crisis.
