Amid Border Tensions, Indian Army Conducts ‘Khairiyat Patrol’ in Gurez Sector
Gurez, April 28: Amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the recent Pahalgam attack, the Indian Army conducted a ‘Khairiyat Patrol’ near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
The patrol was carried out in Dagan village, located in the Bagtore area close to the LoC. As part of the initiative, army personnel visited households door-to-door, checking on the well-being of local residents. With roads now reopened following heavy snowfall, residents have regained mobility, but the Indian Army continues to extend its unwavering support to the local population, as it has consistently done, even through the harshest winters.
During the patrol, soldiers reassured villagers, encouraging them to reach out for any assistance they might require, reaffirming that the army stands ready to support them at all times.
The local residents expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the Indian Army, acknowledging the enduring commitment of the soldiers to their welfare. Despite the ongoing tensions at the border, the army’s presence and outreach efforts have brought a sense of security and relief to the area.
The villagers conveyed their appreciation, mentioning that they currently have no immediate needs but value the army’s consistent presence and support. They emphasized that initiatives like the Khairiyat Patrol are further strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and the local community.
