Panar, Tanghat residents hail KPDCL for timely restoration of electricity
Bandipora, Feb 06: The residents of remote Panar and Tangath hamlets of Bandipora district on Tuesday hailed KPDCL for restoring their electricity swiftly after heavy snowfall in these areas.
Residents of Panar and Thanghat expressed their gratitude as electricity was swiftly restored in a day following the damage to a local transformer. “This unexpected prompt action by the power department has left the community pleasantly surprised, as they had anticipated a much lengthier outage,” they told Kashmir Convener.
Abdul Hameed Chohan, a resident of the area, said, "When the transformer was damaged due to unknown reasons, we were mentally prepared for a prolonged wait as per the past practice, assuming it would take at least a month to have the power back. However, to our pleasant surprise, we witnessed the efficient and speedy response of the department, especially the Assistant Engineer Abdul Majeed and power was restored after just one day."
The unexpected turnaround was particularly noteworthy given the recent heavy snowfall in the region, which resulted in damage to some parts of the electric network. Despite the challenging weather conditions, field staff from the power department worked tirelessly to repair and reconnect the network.
"We are thankful to the dedicated field staff who braved the harsh snow and adverse conditions to ensure the speedy restoration of our electricity. Their commitment to service, especially during challenging weather, deserves recognition. It's heartening to see the power development department responding swiftly to address issues and prioritise the needs of the community."
Locals said the incident highlighted the resilience and preparedness of the KPDCL in Panar and Thanghat, demonstrating their commitment to providing uninterrupted power supply to the residents.
“The efficient response has not only alleviated the inconvenience faced by the community but has also instilled confidence in the local population regarding the responsiveness of essential services during adverse situations”.
