Bandipora, Jan 26: The 75th Republic Day was joyously celebrated on Friday in the sub-division of Gurez, resonating with fervour and enthusiasm.
The main event was organised at Boys Higher Secondary School Dawar, where Mukhtar Ahmad, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Gurez, unfurled the National Flag and presided over the March Past by contingents of JKP and school children.
In attendance were DDOs, Sectoral officers, government employees, school children, and a large gathering of people, all joining in the patriotic spirit of Republic Day. Prior to the main event, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gurez paid a solemn visit to the Martyr’s Memorial, laying floral wreaths in honour.
Adding vibrancy to the celebration, school children showcased colourful cultural programs that garnered high praise from the audience.
The festivities concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where outstanding employees from various departments were recognized and honoured with Certificates of Appreciation.
The day's events not only showcased the patriotic zeal of the community but also acknowledged the dedicated service of exemplary individuals contributing to the betterment of the sub-division.
