Ganderbal, Jan 20: District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Ganderbal on Saturday orchestrated a productive Day Long Job Fair at its premises in Khun Harran.
The event aimed to create a conducive platform for educated unemployed youth and job seekers to engage with employers for potential placements.
The Job Fair was inaugurated by Ms. Zeenat Ara, Joint Director Employment, Kashmir Division. It witnessed a remarkable response from job seekers and unemployed youth in the district.
During the event, Joint Director Employment, Kashmir, interacted with the participants, fostering a direct connection between job seekers and potential employers. A significant highlight was the felicitation of beneficiaries who successfully completed recent skill development courses.
Under the Mumkin Scheme, four vehicles were delivered and flagged off, enhancing mobility opportunities. The Lead Bank Manager of Ganderbal, Mr. Shabir Ahmad, along with officials from DE&CC Ganderbal, graced the occasion.
Over 200 job seekers participated in the fair, and 17 individuals were shortlisted on the spot by six different employers. Two candidates were selected immediately, with plans to adjust more candidates in the coming days. Skill training institutes, RSETI & NRLM, set up stalls for on-the-spot registration and awareness. Additionally, 45 candidates registered for various skill courses during the event.
The culmination of the event featured a vote of thanks presented by Career Counselling Officer (CCO) Ganderbal, Saimia Bano, expressing gratitude to the guests and participants.
