Drug peddler arrested in Baramulla: Police
Baramulla, Jan 15: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday said that it arrested a notorious drug peddler in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement, a police Spokesperson said that a police party of Police Post Delina headed by Incharge Police Post Delina at a checkpoint established at Juhama Market, intercepted a person identified as Mohd Ayoub Shah son of Abdul Khaliq resident of Ladoora Rafiabad.
“During the search, 270 grams of brown sugar-like contraband substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Baramulla where he remains in custody,” he said, adding that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been initiated.
“We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact the nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law,” the police added.
