Youth’s Mysterious Death in Bandipora: Preliminary Investigation Points to Drug Overdose, friend arrested

Bandipora, July 13: The preliminary investigation into the perplexing death of a youth, Junaid Baba, from Bagh Bandipora, suggests that the cause of death was a drug overdose.

The body of  the youth was found at Gamroo-Gund Qaisar Bridge on Thursday. Bandipora Police has registered a formal case under Sections 304 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

            Bandipora Police have made significant breakthrough in the investigation, leading to the arrest of one Qaisar Aejaz Waza-a friend of deceased, who is believed to have administered the drug doses to the victim and disposed of the deceased's body.

However, the investigation is ongoing as authorities delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the incident and collect further evidence.

In a tweet on Sunday evening, Bandipora Police stated that one suspect, identified as Qaisar Aejaz Waza, son of Aejaz Ahmad Waza and resident of Bagh Bandipora, has been apprehended for allegedly providing the drug doses and disposing of the victim's body. The investigation is still going on.

Subsequently, a case has been officially registered under Sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of an offense) of the IPC.  An official said  the medical shop of the accused person has also been  sealed where the drugs  crime was committed.

The tragic incident unfolded on Thursday, July 13, when the body of Junaid Baba was discovered under mysterious circumstances at Gamroo Gund Qaisar Bridge in Bandipora.

            The local community has expressed shock and dismay over the unfortunate demise of Junaid Baba.

Locals said the incident serves as a stark reminder of the perils of drug abuse and the urgent need to address the issue in society.

Meanwhile Bandipora Police has emphasized their commitment to conducting a thorough investigation and ensuring that justice is served.
