Bandipora, 7 July: The State Taxes Department circle Bandipora on Friday organized an interaction session with various stakeholders of the district at the state tax office.
State Taxes Officer circle Bandipora Mehraj Wani chaired the session and said the interaction was part of GST week celebration.
He said the traders, bakery owners, restaurant owners, hoteliers and owners of other business establishments participated in the programme.
Expressing his gratitude, Mehraj Wani acknowledged the significant contributions of the stakeholders towards the remarkable growth of GST in Jammu & Kashmir. He commended their resilience in overcoming challenges since the implementation of GST in 2017.
During the session, Wani emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration and cooperation between the Department and stakeholders.
He stressed the need to promote professional and ethical business practices, combat emerging tax evasion techniques, enhance awareness of GST laws, improve tax system efficiency, and address compliance issues, all of which are vital for overall economic growth.
The participants actively engaged in fruitful discussions, sharing ideas, best practices, and suggestions, with the aim of strengthening the effectiveness of GST in Jammu & Kashmir.
Furthermore, Wani announced that similar programs will be organized in all sub-divisions of the district. Additionally, GST registration camps will be conducted in the Gurez area next month, ensuring that businesses have convenient access to the registration process.
Wani said the interactive session and future initiatives reflect the commitment of the State Taxes Department to promote transparency, collaboration, and efficiency in the GST system.
“With the active participation of stakeholders, Jammu & Kashmir aims to foster a thriving business environment and contribute to the nation's economic development.,” he added.
