Nizamuddin Bhat urges Wakf Board to provide Generous Financial Aid to Needy on Eidul Azha
Srinagar, June 27- Nizamuddin Bhat, the former Vice Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Wakf Board, has called upon the Wakf authorities to extend significant financial assistance to the poor and needy on the occasion of Eidul Azha as part of their relief activities.
Bhat emphasized the long-standing tradition of the institution offering assistance during festivals by utilizing collections from the Baitul Mal, which is filled with generous donations at shrines of the Muslim community.
He highlighted the urgency of the upcoming Eid, which comes amidst a backdrop of increasing financial distress. Bhat stressed that the Wakf, as a supportive institution, needs to exhibit even greater generosity than usual by providing support to ensure that the less fortunate can experience a joyful Eid, just like the more affluent members of society.
Bhat further suggested that in addition to those who formally apply for assistance on various grounds, attention should be given to specific groups of beneficiaries, such as poor patients suffering from fatal diseases in hospitals and deprived children in orphanages.
He underscored the importance of reaching out to these vulnerable individuals and stated that it is both a human and religious duty to support them during their time of need.
Expressing hope that the Wakf authorities would recognize the significance of assisting the underprivileged, Bhat expressed confidence that they would feel compelled by compassion rather than constrained by obligations to extend a helping hand.
