Bandipora, Feb 03: Mission SHAKTI SAKHI–One Stop Centre, Bandipora in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora and Social Welfare Department, Mission Vitsalaya organised one-day awareness programme at DCPU, Bandipora about Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act – 2013.
A good number of participants from various areas of Bandipora and from various departments like DHEW, ICDS, SW, ICPS, CCI, CRBC, SCH etc. participated in the said event.
During the event, Jameela Akhter, CW, OSC Bandipora informed the audience regarding the various aspects of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
During the event, Jabeena Mohammad, Superintendent, CRBC highlighted the need to be aware of various women centric laws and regulations while as Saima Mohammad, PO, CCI, highlighted the role of modern mechanism and redressal systems for women, who feel any violence or any kind of such issues, to make dream of "Empowering Nari Shakti" a real one.
On the occasion Ayesha, Gender Coordinator, DHEW, informed the participants about the need of women to break their silence. She said that gender equality and women empowerment is now a dream coming true. She said emergency response and non emergency redressal mechanisms are being provided free of cost to women and girls affected by any kind of violence.
Malik Tabinda, PO, DCPU while inspiring the participants to come forward in case of any violence or forced issues and gave detailed information about Women Rights and laws.
Tabinda stressed upon women to be aware of safety and violence taking place within their homes and around.
She informed the women to be aware of women’s rights to safeguard themselves and others.
She emphasised the gathering about spreading the awareness regarding various laws meant to safeguard a woman at home or at work place.
The speakers on the occasion also highlighted the roles of various women centric agencies and departments and emphasised upon the participants to be change makers for themselves and for others.
On the occasion Shabnum Shaban, Awareness Coordinator, highlighted the various facilities and services being provided at OSC to the victim women, who feel any kind of violence.
Shabnum while extending gratitude to District Administration Bandipora for their all possible support and coordination and said that District Administration Bandipora under the noble leadership of DC Bandipora Dr. Owais Ahmad is always on forefront to make women centric schemes available at the door steps of people in every area of the district.
