Khairiyat Patrol: Indian Army carried out medical check up of Kamkari, Kaiyan villagers at doorsteps
Kupwara, February 19: Indian Army stationed at Machil sector on Saturday continued thr ongoing Khairiyat Patrol campaign to conduct medical checkup of villagers amid heavy snowfall in the area near Line of Control.
Ab official said Indian Army carried out khariyat patrol and medical check up of villagers in extreme cold weather conditions to check about their well being as well as to provide basic healthcare and medical supplies at their doorstep in this remote location.
Kamkari and Kaiyan are remote villages very close to the line of control in Kupwara district of North Kashmir
He said People of these villages have no medical facilities and the nearest healthcare center is at Batpura and they have to travel for atleast five hour even for small medical assistance.
"Indian Army medical officer and nursing assistant who were part of khairiyat patrol provided basic medicines to the villagers," Spokesman said. "The efforts of Indian Army khariyat patrol had an overwhelming response with a total of 57 local villagers interacted including 13 male , 15 female and 29 children," Statement reads.
He said the Villagers of both the villages appreciated the efforts of the Indian army as many of them are unable to go to nearest medical center due to harsh weather conditions.
