Medic on Foot: Army conducts medical checkup of Nayal residents
Bandipora, February 14: Indian Army stationed in Kanzalwan village near Line of Control in snowbound Gurez Valley on Monday conducted medical checkup of the people at their doorstep.
An official said in continuation of the initiative started in December last year a "Medic on Foot" drive was carried out in Nayal village on Monday to conduct a medical checkup of elderly persons in the village as it witnesses heavy snowfall and people stay indoors during the snowfall.
Officials said a decision was taken by the Army to extend healthcare facility for the village elderly closer to their homes during the routine area domination patrols.
He said during this the BFNA monitored the blood pressure and SPO² of village elders. “Medicines for common illness, multivitamins and specific drugs for elderly were distributed and safety measures from the new variant of Covid 19 were emphasised upon during the interaction. “Elders blessed the Army team for this noble gesture,” spokesperson said adding that these endeavours in such periods of extreme cold and winter cut off period in this valley ensures that the bond between Awam and Army will remains ever strong.
