Bandipora, Feb 01: Taking strict steps against road encroachers and in order to curb the road side parking of vehicles, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Bandipora on Tuesday blacklisted about nine vehicles for violating traffic rules.

Acting on the complaints of the locals, ARTO Bandipora launches a massive drive against the violators of traffic rul s especially sumo's and passengers auto's.

ARTO Bandipora warned strict action against violators and cautioned drivers not to park vehicles on roads that create trouble for smooth traffic.

“If a person is caught breaching the rule, for the first instance he will be fined or even licence will be suspended for a period ranging from three to six months.”

He said the repeated offenders' licence will be cancelled permanently and will be blacklisted also,” they said.

An official said that parking of vehicle on roads led to most of the accidents and it makes roads vulnerable to mishaps.

“We started imposing fines and filing FIR's against traffic offenders, but even that did not helped us to curb this offence on roads, so now we have decided to bar such offenders from driving permanently,” he added.
