Amid Closure Of Road, Two Patients Airlifted From Gurez Valley

Bandipora, 28 Jan: The administration in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on friday airlifted two patients from snowbound Gurez valley to Bandipora for immediate medical relief, officials said.
Officials said that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad, the duo patients requiring emergency evacuation from Gurez Sub Division airlifted from Badugam and Sheikhpora to Bandipora.
Notably, the snow-clad Gurez valley remains cut off from the rest of the Kashmir parts during winters, owing to heavy snowfall in the valley.
However, for the convenience of the general populace of Gurez, Bandipora administration had in prior set-up different control rooms for emergency evacuations.
“Around twenty five people have been evacuated this winter of which most of them were in need of medical attention,” the official informed.
