Swarnim Vijay Varsh: Kilo force Wussan Battalion organizes workshop for specially abled
Srinagar, June 24: To commemorate victory of Indian Armed Forces in 1971 War and as part of Swarnim Vijay Varsh Celebrations, a Workshop for the Specially Abled, from 24 to 25 Jun 21 is being organised at Army Goodwill School, Margund.
In a statement issued today, officials said the First day of the workshop was attended by 43 specially-abled adults and children along with 20 attendees. “Assessment of the level of disability and documentation check was carried out by the team of specialists like Physiotherapist, Prosthetic & Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmologist & Gynecologist who had come from the government hospital and through NGOs like Hope Disability and Awaaz aur Ehsaas Foundation”.
“Based on the assessments Assistive Devices like Wheelchairs, Smart Sticks, Crutches & Hearing Devices will be provided to the Specially Abled,” reads the statement.
Sessions were conducted by specialist doctors like Gynecologist, Physiotherapist, Prosthetic & Orthopedics. Nishtha Thaker, a National Award Winner and Motivational Speaker conducted a Personality Development & Communication Skills session for the specially abled. “Six specially abled individuals , who couldn't undergo COVID vaccination earlier, were given their first dose of the vaccine”.
Rifle Women of the Wussan Battalion and NCC cadets from the Army Goodwill School participated in the workshop and made their share of contributions to make this event successful.
