J&K Students Association Welcomes LoC Ceasefire Agreement
Bandipora, March 08: J&K Students Association here on today welcomed the ceasefire agreement by India and Pakistan to stop cross border firings. In a statement National Spokesperson of Association, Nasir Khuehami said, we wish that this understanding, which is an important step toward establishing stability and peace in the region, will contribute to constituting mutual trust and a constructive atmosphere for dialogue.
He said that the ceasefire agreement should be followed by a comprehensive sustainable dialogue process. Khuehami hoped that both India, Pakistan should respond positively and carve out ways for meaningful dialogue so that the prevailing bloodshed ends in LoC and in J&K.
Khuehami said that, it is the people of Jammu and Kashmir that have been facing the brunt of escalating tensions alongside the borders. I hope the agreement is followed in letter and spirit adding that this Agreement will provide a huge relief to the “beleaguered” people.
Peace should be encouraged. We already suffered a lot due to turmoil. People of border areas suffered a lot due to shelling. Human life is precious. It is good that with these initiatives people will get some relief, Khuehami added.
