DGP visits Handwara; chairs Joint security review meeting

Handwara, Dec 17:Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief on Friday visited Handwara town in north Kashmir and reviewed the overall security situation in Handwara.

According to senior police officer DGP Dilbagh Sigh was accompanied by DIG North Kashmir Sulieman Choudary and chaired a meeting with officials of police, CAPF and Army at DPO Handwara.

The officer also said SP Handwara Dr G.V.Sundeep Chakravarthy- gave a detailed presentation regarding the security scenario of the Police District (PD) and measures put in place by Handwara police during Panchayat and DDC elections-2020.

Brigade Commander 07 sector M.S. Rathore, CO 21 RR Gagandeep Singh, CO 15 RR Abishek Singh, CO CRPF 92 Battalion Uday Divyanshu Sharma, SSB CO Mehra, ASP Handwara Mashkoor Ahmad, SDPO Handwara Fariz Hussain, DYSP DAR Handwara Abdul Raqeeb were also present in the meeting.

Singh appreciated the role being played by the uniform forces and congratulated them for the successful and incident free conduct of elections and directed the officers to be more alert and vigilant in strengthening the security grid and to plug the gaps with strict security measures for future.He appreciated the role of Handwara police and other law enforcement agencies in maintaining law and order during the elections and emphasized upon the officers to keep their morale high even after the elections.
