Voters being intimidated  on gunpoint in Handwara, alleges Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan

Handwara, Dec 06: National Conference senior leader and former minister Choudhary Mohammed Ramzan Sunday alleged that some people are roaming with arms in Handwara constituency and intimidating voters during campaigning.

            He said this while addressing workers convention in Magam area of Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. He sought strict action against those involved in carrying weapons during poll campign to intimidate the voters. He expressed surprise over the silence of State Election Commission over the issue and demanded action over violation of model code of conduct.

            Chowdhary said that security agencies should taken strong note of it. "SSP Handwara has already been requested to snatch these weapons without any delay", he said.

            Lashing out at BJP, the senior NC leader said that the saffron party destroyed the social and political structure of J&K and took away our due rights. He asserted that people are aware about the wrongs of BJP and they are ready to give beffiting reply to them in the ongoing electoral process. "I appeal people to vote for PAGD candidate of Magam DDC seat and frustrate the plans of saffron party", he said.
