DC Bandipora holds public grievance camp at Block Bandipora. Block Diwas held across the district

 BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 18:  The Block Diwas/Youm e Block, a part of ambitious Jan Abhiyan programme was observed today in all the blocks of Bandipora district, during which officers listened to public issues, grievances and demands.

          The Block Diwas was observed to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for accurate and on ground assessment and redressal of the same thereby providing governance to the public at their door steps.

          Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad attended the Block Diwas at Bandipora block and interacted with the public as part of the Block Diwas besides reviewing the developmental activities taking place in the block.

          He was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Rahul Malik, Additional District Development Commissioner Afsar Ali Khan, Assistant Commissioner Development Abdul Rasheed Dass, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Executive Engineers of R&B and Jal Shakti, Divisional Forest Officer Shabir Ahmad, BDC Chairpersons and other senior officers of the district.

More than two dozen delegations besides scores of individuals called on the Deputy Commissioner and apprised him about the problems faced by them in day to day life including that of roads, water, electricity, Healthcare services, Education, Agriculture, Irrigation, Sports and other individual issues. The delegations include representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions.

          DC Bandipora gave patient hearing to the delegations and passed on-spot directions for redressal of their grievances.  While interacting with the people, DC Bandipora said conducting of public outreach programmes provides an important feedback for the government to tailor its interventions for the public good and reach to the doorstep of the people instead of them visiting the corridors of power in secretariat or other government offices.

          He said that public outreach programmes are an important part of effective governance and it takes every step to reach out to the people in their own localities. Dr Owais said that the grievances registered by the people are being tracked personally and the grievance redressal mechanism is being monitored by the government.

District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais said all the developmental activities are being monitored and it is being ensured that the ongoing works are completed on time.

Meanwhile Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir attended the Public Darbar at Sumbal Sub-Division and attended the public greviances. He was accompanied by Sub Divisional Magistrate Sumbal Bashir Ahmad Lone and other senior officers.

On the occasion ADC Bandipora was apprised about the progress of various developmental activities besides reviewing the implementation of various state and centrally sponsored schemes in the sub division. He also interacted with the public to assess and get the first-hand account of the public grievances.

 

Mir urged the officers to expedite the pace of work on several projects to meet the deadline before the onset of the winter. He gave patient hearing to the delegations and passed on-spot directions for redressal of their grievances.  He also distributed domicile certificates among   several beneficiaries. At Gurez Sub Divisional Magistrate listened to the public grievances and got the first hand appraisal of the public issues.
