Why did PAGD oppose State Flag day events when in power? AIP questions

Srinagar, November 15: Asking the Gupkar Alliance to introspect and apprise masses what stopped them from accepting Awami Itehad Party's demand for declaring 7th June as State Flag day, Party Spokesperson Sheeban Ashai reminded NC and PDP of their abominably brutish responses towards Er Rashid over the issue when they were in power.

In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener on Sunday, Spokesperson said ,"When these people were dancing to the tunes of their masters, Er Rashid every year literally implored them to give permission for celebrating the State Flag day, but every-time PDP,NC and Congress would use vicious force and devilish machinations to stop the event”. He said Jammu Kashmir Awami Itehad Party from its very inception used to celebrate State Flag day every year on 7th of June and Er Rashid used to invite every single constituent of today's Gupkar alliance to join the event but they always downplayed the significance of the day.

“AIP is a strong votary for unity amongst people and parties but can Mehboob Mufti and Omer Abdullah explain why they rejected Er Rashid's repeated demands to declare 7th June as a state holiday to mark the State Flag Day?" questioned the party. Ashai added that it’s about time people ask the PAGD why they never even uttered a word to oppose Er Rashid's illegal incarceration or sought his release.

" Who does not know that Er Rashid always used to speak for the legitimate rights of people of Jammu And Kashmir both inside and outside the assembly. The People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration owes an urgent explanation to masses whether they believe that Awami Itehad Party Supremo Er Rashid is a criminal or are they scared of his sincerity to call spade a spade,” reads the statement. “Er Rashid always enjoyed the support of masses which became his only crime and it seems that parties of Gupkar Allaince which of late have become self proclaimed saviors of Kashmir and Kashmiris are more than happy with Er Rashid's continued illegal detention”.

Party Spokesperson further added that egregious disregard for the fact that it was JK Awami Itehad Party which took first steps in initiating a dialogue between various political parties for consensus building last year post rumors of abrogation of Article 370, by not inviting AIP to any of the PAGD meetings somewhat explains from where does the PAGD operate and what are the real designs of the alliance.
