Srinagar, Oct 14,: Two militants have been killed in an encounter between government forces and militants in Chakoora area of South Kashmir's Shopian district on Wednesday afternoon.
A senior police officer told news agencies that two unidentified militants have been killed, while a search is on in the area.
Earlier, a joint team of Army, Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter in which two militants have been killed.
