Bandipora, Oct 11 : Massive fire broke out in Konan forests in North Kashmir’s Bandipora District on Sunday afternoon.
The fire broke out in the afternoon and has spread to a vast area as the concerned officials allegedly failed to douse the flames on time. “Fire erupted in compartment No. 110 in Arin area falling under Ajas forest range of Bandipora and is spreading fast. The locals said that the compartment under fire is very dense in Bandipora division.
An officer said that a team of officials and workers of the department are busy dousing fire since afternoon. “We are trying our best to control the fire and have so far succeeded in stopping it from spreading to the adjoining areas.(PTK)
