COVID19 Lockdown: Bandipora traders join hands to help affected colleagues

BANDIPORA, MAY 20:  Amid Coronavirus Pandemic lockdown, the traders in Bandipora have joined hands to help their colleagues who have been severaly affected by the ongoing lockdown.

President Traders Federation Bandipora Shamshad Ahmad Bhat  said there are a lot of colleagues who earn from hand to mouth including small shopkeepers, labours, vendors, Drivers, Conductors, Cleaners, salesmen of various shoopkeepers and other people and owing to the lockdown, they are the worst hit. He said at Bandipora market, all these people are part of the family and the federation has taken up the task to take care of their needs.

He said the well off businessmen pooled their contribution at the union office and the volunteers of the trade union are making relief kits and later drop at the doorsteps of the needy persons.

            He said so far they have reached out to 1100 families and  provided essential eatables including, rice, pulses, spices, flour, vegetables and milk. Bhat thanked the traders of Bandipora   for lending their support to help their colleagues in tough times.

            Bhat said the Traders Federation has also planned to reach out to more families ahead of Eid so that they are able to ease their hardship during these tough times. He said they have taken this initiative in coordination with the Markazi Baitul Maal with an aim to reach to the maximum people and avoid duplication.

            He appealed the people especially traders to donate their contribution to traders federation so that they are able to reach out to the needy colleagues
