Directs for rationalization of teaching staff in schools

BANDIPORA, JUNE 13: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza today chaired a meeting to review the overall functioning of Education Department.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Chief Education Officer Javid Iqbal, ZEO of various zones and Principals of Higher Secondary Schools.

The DDC reviewed the status of providing quality education, assured minimum facilities at all institutions and optimum utilization of human resource. The rationalization of teachers, vacancies and vacant school buildings was also discussed threadbare.

Mirza directed the officers to identify the schools having dearth of teachers so that surplus staff can be send in these schools. He stressed on implementing the first rationalization order in letter and spirit, besides directing the officers to prepare the second list within three days so that staff in schools can be rationalized for the benefit of the students.

He warned strict action against the officials who fail to comply with the orders and directed the ZEOs to ensure that the teachers join their new places of postings at earliest.

He directed the officers to intensify surprise checks in schools, besides increasing student enrollment ratio, effecting proper and result oriented monitoring of schools and ensuring quality education. He also reviewed district, state plans and centrally sponsored schemes. The DDC emphasized on providing all sports related facilities and involving students in extra- curriculum activities in the schools.
