DDC conducts extensive tour of Gurez valley, reviews development scenario

Bandipora, May 28: District Development Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza conducted an extensive tour of various villages of Gurez valley to review developmental projects and assess public demands.

          The DDC convened a meeting of officers at Dawar and Tulail to review developmental projects initiated at respective places. Meeting discussed threadbare the progress of various developmental projects and also discussed the loopholes that hinder the progress of these projects. He directed the officers to expedite the work so that the projects are completed within the set deadline. A number of issues related to projects were discussed and decisions taken for expeditious and timely completion of these projects.

          DDC said the Gurez valley has a limited working season owing to the weather conditions and hence the work needs to be expedited to meet the deadlines.       He stressed on improving the healthcare services and also reviewed the stock position of essential commodities  directing the officers to conduct regular market checking  and take strict action against those indulging in overpricing.

During the tour, DDC inspected several developmental projects including road connectivity, ongoing works in Govt Degree College, Indoor Sports Complex, Engineering Complex, Guest House, Govt Degree College, Industrial Training Institute and various Roads & Bridge projects. He also inspected the land identified for Govt Degree College Tulail.

          Enroute Gurez and Tulail, DDC Bandipora  visited several villages and interacted with general public at Dawar, Markote, Chorwan, Badwan  Barnai, Kildhey Payeen, Zadigy, Purana Tulail, Dangithal, Bagtore, Kanzalwan and Kuragbal.

          On the occasion locals apprised the DDC Bandipora about several issues and grievances and sought early redressal of their grievances. He also discussed several matters regarding availability of different facilities. Mirza gave patient hearing to the people at different villages and on-spot directions were passed to redress several grievances. SDM Gurez, Tehsildars, BDOs and other senior officers accompanied the DDC during the tour.
