DDC Budgam visits Disaster Evacuation centers Inspects many educational institutions
Budgam, April 30: District Development Commissioner Budgam Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar today visited the designated Main Evacuation Centre, Higher Secondary School Humhama.
Among others ADC Budgam, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, Chief Education Officer Budgam, Fatima Tak, Tehsildar, Officials of Disaster Management and other concerned were also present.
The visit was aimed to have a firsthand status of preparedness and readiness, all allied agencies had to made in case of any natural disaster or other eventualities occurring. Besides the Main Centre, 5 safety camps have also been established in nearby low lying areas equipped with all requirements. It was also told that to monitor and facilitate the relief and rescue emergencies during any eventuality, special teams under the control of a designated nodal officer will be stationed at all 5 prescribed locations which will also be helped by local concerned staff when required.
Earlier DDC inspected many educational institutions including Higher Secondary School Humhama, High School Ompora, and High School Narkara. During inspection the DDC visited the class rooms and interacted with the students and ascertained from them provisions of education status.
While observing small enrolment of students in classes, the DDC showed serious cause of concern which needs to be seriously looked into. The DDC directed the concerned institution Heads to evolve a strategy in luring the students towards getting admitted in large numbers in government institutions. She reiterated that District Administration is always in support of education department authorities in facilitating quality education. She also urged on authorities to involve maximum number of students towards physical/sports activities so that they can participate and demonstrate their talent.
